PRESENTATION BY CARTER PAGE DIRECTOR, BARD GLOBALIZATION AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS PROGRAM What are the methods for having an impact in the area of international affairs? This question is often considered from the perspective of senior government officials such as the U.S. President and Secretary of State - a fairly narrow audience. Until recently it has not been seriously considered from the perspective of the vast majority of individuals that currently play or wish to play an increasingly important role in this process at a working level. The Bard Globalization and International Affairs Program in New York City is currently completing a research project which provides an answer to that question. The key findings will be summarized in this presentation. With the rise of the Obama Administration, there has been a surge in interest regarding these issues. The world is currently long on hope, change and personal energy, but short on ways to practically deploy it in an international context on an individual level especially in light of current economic constraints. This presentation will help illuminate some of the methods which one may use to directly engage in this process.
